A Christmas Store is an opportunity for families to shop for their children at extremely discounted prices, yet still have the DIGNITY of being able to CHOOSE gifts they actually want for their children and (affordably) PURCHASE their children's gifts.

We serve them by making it affordable; and also serve them by allowing them the joy and freedom of PROVIDING, not merely receiving gifts for their kids.

We show families the love of the Father, giving them a taste of the joy of being with God’s family for a day of surprising hospitality and generosity.

Each family is assigned a personal shopping partner to walk them through the store, get to know them, pray for their needs, and share the good news of Jesus with them while their kids enjoy crafts, snacks, fun, and a gospel story in our kids area.

Following the invitation-only store, we celebrate further with a Christmas Bash open to the whole community with food, fun, giveaways, the Good News, and an outdoor Christmas movie on our giant movie screen setup between heaters with plenty of hot chocolate, blankets, and handwarmers on our church lawn.

The families we help include:

• families of church members in need

• families from the elementary school next door to the church

• families from the community that Refuge members may know personally

This year we’re aiming to serve 40 families overall.

We would LOVE it if you, your family, your church, your small group, or your Sunday School class would be willing to purchase one, or more, gifts from the registry. The proceeds from the small percentage the families pay will go to expand the store to more families next years!
